1. Introduction
M Dance Academy is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all students, parents, and staff.This policy outlines our approach to maintaining health and safety standards in all classes, rehearsals, workshops, and performances.

2. Responsibilities • The Academy Director is responsible for implementing and monitoring all health and safety procedures. • All instructors and staff must follow safety guidelines and report any concerns immediately. • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring students are fit and well enough to participate in physical activity. • Students must behave responsibly and follow teacher instructions at all times.

3. Emergency Procedures • Emergency exits are clearly marked in all teaching venues. • In case of fire or emergency evacuation, staff will guide students to safety following the venue’s emergency plan. • First aid kits are available on site, and staff are trained in basic first aid procedures. • In the event of a serious incident, emergency services will be contacted immediately.

4. Injury & Illness • Any injury sustained during class must be reported to the instructor immediately. • If a student feels unwell, they will be safely supervised until collected by a parent or guardian. • Students with contagious illnesses should not attend classes until fully recovered.

5. Venue & Equipment Safety • The dance studio and equipment are inspected regularly to ensure they are safe and suitable for use. • Students must wear appropriate dance attire and footwear to reduce the risk of injury. • Food and drink (except water) are not permitted inside the dance studio.

6. Review of Policy
This policy is reviewed annually to ensure compliance with current UK Health & Safety regulations and best practices for performing arts education.
